Perth’s city centre is set to burst into colour, creativity and unexpected moments as FRINGE WORLD 2026 takes over the heart of the City of Light from 21 January to 15 February.

Now celebrating its 15th year, FRINGE WORLD has grown into one of Australia’s largest and most-loved festivals, delivering a summer-long celebration of comedy, cabaret, circus, music, theatre and everything in between. From daytime pop-ups to late-night spectacles, the festival promises to keep Perth buzzing from morning through to midnight.

A Festival on a Massive Scale

In 2026, FRINGE WORLD will feature more than 600 shows across 110 venues, with around 3,000 artists and performers taking part. Building on the momentum of more than 256,000 tickets sold last year, over half of this year’s program will showcase brand-new shows, many created by Western Australian artists.

The City of Perth will host the majority of festival events, activating 54 venues across the city. Expect the return of much-loved programs alongside playful pop-ups and delightfully unexpected activations, including whimsical installations like The Bubble Canteen at Forrest Place.

Perth Turned Into One Giant Stage

Festival hubs will spring up across the CBD, with events hosted at iconic locations including Perth Town Hall, State Theatre Centre, The Rechabite, Ice Cream Factory, and the ever-popular Pleasure Garden in Russell Square. Adding to the excitement, Liberty Theatre will step into the spotlight as a major new hub for 2026.

City of Perth Deputy Lord Mayor David Goncalves said FRINGE WORLD plays a vital role in shaping Perth’s summer atmosphere.

"FRINGE WORLD turns Perth into a city that truly comes alive – bold, playful and buzzing all summer long. For a few weeks each year, the festival transforms the heart of Perth into a giant stage for the entire community."

A City Painted Pink

Presented by ARTRAGE, FRINGE WORLD 2026 is shaping up to be one of the festival’s most exciting programs yet. CEO and Creative Director Jo Thomas described it as the time when Perth “really lets its hair down”.

“For a few glorious weeks, the city becomes a giant backyard party – bursting with colour, comedy, cabaret, circus and surprise. Whether you plan a big night out or simply wander in and see where the fun takes you, there’s something around every corner to make you laugh, gasp or say, ‘Well… I didn’t expect that!’”

She also highlighted the festival’s unique ability to bring people together, from families enjoying their first Fringe experience to friends reconnecting over late-night shows and spontaneous city encounters.
